I am no boxing fan. This weekend after an outing in Laguna we decided to watch the game at a friend's house in Los Banos. It's the first time that my fiance' and I will view this game with no commercial breaks and so the excitement. Game started, a few rounds and we all had the same feeling of pressure especially you won't have time to at least finish a stick of cigar because the pressure and stress was up knowing that the fight was really a good one and you don't wanna miss a hit. Although we were missing the cheering squad part where you'll hear the whole neighborhood roaring because Pacquiao gave an absolute super punch. With no commercial breaks the rounds were fast approaching to finish and still we can't get ourselves to shout and clap for an amazing stunt. By the end of the game we said, well it was a good fight thinking Pacquiao was defeated until it was officially announced that Manny Pacquiao is still the Champion. Silence, and then questions came... how come?
As I said I am no boxing fan, hence the ignorance and the questions but because we are with friends who knows how the game is and also are fans of UFC analyzed the game. Marquez challenged Pacquiao, so the burden was on him to show everyone that he could put Pacquiao down for a knockdown or at least make him suffer so much after the fight. But then Pacquiao showed that he was ready and as if he wasn't hurt with every punch that he got and was still up until the last round. Marquez was challenging a champion and he just can't get the title by just having those punches and close scores from the judges, it should have been more to prove that he really can take on Pacquiao but sorry to say the champion was still up and never showed a sign of hurting. And so we understood and it makes a good point.
As of today Social Media Sites were flooded with reactions mostly stating that they think it should have been Marquez, yes those were my same reaction too but after further explanation from people who are knowledgeable in this field I think it was just fair. Marquez can't win and get the Championship Belt just like that. "sya nag challenge eh (Marquez), so dapat bugbog nya si Manny or napatumba nya para mapatunayan na kaya nya, kaso wala eh nakatayo pa din si Manny and lumalaBAN."
So to our very own Manny Pacquiao Congratulations once again...
Would there be a fourth round for them? we'll see
